Note on invitations for AI events

Given the rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence and the enormous impact these developments have on our society, there is an growing need for expert advice on these matters. As a result, I receive invitations to participate in lectures, panel discussions, interviews, consults, and other events related to AI on a very frequent basis. As much as I believe it is important to participate in such dissemination events, my full agenda does not permit me to accept all of these invitations. Therefore, I usually limit myself to those events that a) fit in my calendar, b) match my specific expertise on ‘social aspects of AI’, and c) provide some form of compensation for my expenses. This also implies that I have to decline many interesting invitations, much to my regret.
